Are the generated passwords secure?
Yes. Passwords are generated using the browser's Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), which is cryptographically secure, suitable for any account or system.
Are my passwords stored or sent anywhere?
No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. No password is ever sent to a server or stored anywhere.
How long should my password be?
For most accounts, 16 characters with mixed types gives 100+ bits of entropy, effectively uncrackable. Use 20+ characters for sensitive accounts like banking or email.
What does "exclude ambiguous characters" mean?
Characters like 0/O and 1/l/I look similar in many fonts. Excluding them makes passwords easier to read and type without errors, useful for shared credentials.
What is entropy and why does it matter?
Entropy (in bits) measures how many guesses it would take to crack the password by brute force. Each extra bit doubles the guesses needed. 70+ bits is strong; 100+ is extremely secure.
